Fencing project for my goats. My biggest project yet

It's been great chatting with you..:)
We definitely had a good one too..:highfive:
To be on topic are you working on the fence again today?
Agreed!:):highfive:
Hoping to be able to finish all 50 metal ones against the woods. Concrete should be set in a few days but won't be able to tension to next weekend and need to cover to shelter floor to protect the wood .I guess the guy used to store pool equipment so I had to do some cleaning and reconfiguring but they will love it as will I. And the electric is convenient

I'm going to see how this fence holds up to that. I'm setting smaller panels of 4x4 wire the posts near they're shelter hoping the will groom there. Mine do wear the welded wire fence so I'm hoping this will be better but I did think about electric. I left the posts a little higher than the fence in case I need a electric line up top. I'm hoping 4 with almost an acre will help spread that out ..and I'll be adding as time goes on
Are you gonna line the inside with electric to keep the goats off the fence? Mine like to lean in and rub along their sides without electric. They wear it out quickly.

I will be curious to see if it helps to have a scratching area. Goats can challenge everything you do. They are good at finding what they can exploit. It's one thing that I actually enjoy, out thinking a goat. :)

Do your goats have horns? I had problems with goats getting their heads stuck in fencing with 4x4 openings. Mostly younger ones.

I definitely am going plan B now and getting smaller wire for my goats..:frow
They can stick their heads through and so can my dog Bindi. Yesterday Bindi stuck her head through and Ozzy bunted her.:gig

Good for the dogs to know goats don't take no crap. :lau
Was hilarious because Bindi tried to sniff their butts and little 10 week old Ozzy bounced up on his hinds and bunted her with her head in the fence. She was embarrassed so picked up a stick and was wiggling her butt around..:gig

My dog Molly wants to friends with any animal that comes by but quickly learned the goats have no intrest in New friends. She won't come in 50 ft of them. Mine are a lot bigger though. She got a warning but cause Lucy could knock her out if she tried ..love watching all the animals interacting and meeting ..supervised of course
I guess I wouldn't like anyone sniffing my butt either. Ha
