Several people that I know have been talking about feeding fermented feed to their chickens. I was wondering if anyone has made and fed fermented feed to their peas. Do you all think that feeding fermented feed to peas is safe? Any comments are welcome.

Although I don't think properly fermented feed would hurt them, my question has always been why?
Fermented feed reduces pathogens and disease in the digestive tract. It is used commercially in places where antibiotics are banned because it reduces the prevalence of disease in the flock. Where birds are used for their meat, contamination is less likely. The good bacteria out-compete the bad and create an acidic environment where pathogens cannot thrive.
You can read more about it here:

Yeah, I understand all that I guess I have just always had to many birds to even consider something that consumes that much time.

.....Not to mention the fact you ferment something for three days with good bacteria and I aint thinking about chicken feed. I got another final product in mind.

my understanding is that it also helps cut down on food waste as well......... which is a bonus as well.

Though I don't think i'd want to drink it...
