I know there are airborne yeasts out there, but some are bad, and some are good.

I make wine and use Montrachet for my fermentation carboys. I figured, first time, throw a pack of that in there, eh?

So, do y'all use corn and wheat? Will white rice work, we get it free, but we don't eat it, we eat the brown and yellow.

But I am an avid lover of photography, so sometimes my love of photography overwhelms my good sense to avoid all things winter and I can't help myself I take a few pics. We don't get the ugly weather here until later in the season but here are a few pics from previous years.

Nice pictures. I see Jersey, Hereford and (I think) a Holstein back there.

We had Herefords when I lived on the farm. Now I'm relegated to a postage stamp and will have a few chickens.

This is what I do in my spare time (I'm retarded, er, I mean retired). Maybe some of both.

We had a little rickety 5' x 6' deck/entry and it was falling down, so we quit procrastinating and I built a new one.

Gorgeous!!!!

No yeast for me. Only added H2O

I never added even ACV to the wet grain; it gets the bacteria needed for fermentation from the air. I'm sure it would happen faster with the addition of ACV though. I let mine ferment to long; had put up more than they could eat. It really turned to booze! But guess what? I t works like buttermilk pancakes. I added a little flour and an egg and presto....pancake batter! They gobbled them up. The acidity and bubbles (carbonation?) act like leavening. Can't waste anything! : )

I don't get it .I posted a remark about one thing and it gets posted with Kassaundra's fabulous photographs. Some day I'll get the hang of it!

It's really pretty and cozy looking....all red, white and blue, even painted the concrete. Nifty!

I woke up at 5:00 this morning and couldn't remember if I took my phone to bed with me. (I have a family member in the hospital so I was in a mild panic to find it.) Couldn't find it so got up and searched the house, couldn't find it so I went and searched the car, couldn't find it soooo went with a flashlight and searched around the yard and three coops/runs! It was dark, cold, wind blowing and snow flurries AND I wasn't amused! LOL Oh, I went back and tore all the covers off my bed just in case, somehow it was under my sheets and I slept on it all night. LOL When I was searching the coop with my older birds my dog slipped in the door when I went in. As I was locking the door behind me I notice something BIG in there on the other side of the door looking at me. I almost locked the chicken killing dog IN the coop with the chickens! Ohhh not a good thought! LOL One time he followed me in the basement and was locked in there for a day or two. I couldn't find him anywhere them heard him whining. Ahhhh (sigh) that dog.

Why didn't you use another phone to phone your phone? Boyfriend's? Land line? Or does no one but me have one anymore?

And you didn't drink any? LOL Hahahahahaha!

"Corn Sqeezin's" is made the same way, only in a silo, they set the buckets under the drain holes underneath.

You even get the benefit of the protein from the corn worms. LOL
