yes I have, I have been "being still" Bee. I need vit. D since it's too low and I can't take the stuff for getting cold sores. Too bad it doesn't also give me iron since that's too low to.

anyway...... so I moved my swing into the full sun so I could sit out each day and get my vit. D. and watch my chickens and read my bible and read a couple books I have been trying to read as well. shoooooo run on sentence. lol

anyway my daughter has that sinus crud again now since her co workers came to work sick and gave it to her. :( Just praying I don't get it again!

I STILL have congestion from the last time I never could get over. Anyway she had felt like death warmed over and is running a low grade fever. I took her to the Dr. on Sat. and she still is sick. I have taken everything I can get my hands on vit. wise and done some mega praying, PLEASE GOD don't let hubby nor I get this mess and help her to get over it quick. She had to go to work sick on Monday and today because she didn't have anymore sick leave or vacation time. There have been several of them that work with her that have came in sick for weeks so now she returned the favor I guess you would say but she didn't have a choice. I'm just hoping now they don't catch it but maybe next time they will think before they do come to work sick again. :(

anyway sorry for venting but it's so annoying...... I can't handle inconsiderate people! :(

Anyway been working today trying to get some of my foods prepared for tomorrow. Hope you guys are having a great Christmas with family and friends and have plenty of good foods.

Bee I see you got some of those roos in the jars I guess. YUM

Thank you TW. Merry Christmas to you to. Been busy with life and catching up on some cleaning and de-cluttering. lol

Hey there Rose. :) Sounds like you have been doing what I badly need to do! Makes me tired to think about it. lol I hope you and the family get past that sickness SOON.

Wonderful party this evening. Everybody (all seven of us) ate drank and opened presents. My main present was one of the heavy duty utility carts that holds 400 lbs. Bigger than a little wagon I was hnting at. Amazing. Just perfect for the feed. And a brooder set up. So ready to order my chicks after I get my coop built. Right now I'm in a food coma. Very good food. And I didn't have to cook any of it. Yea!! Everybody stay safe. Merry Christmas , dearies!!!

A very important thing to remember, if your Doctor didn't mention it, is that Vitamin D takes anywhere from 12 to 48 hours, usually on the upper end of that time frame, to be absorbed by the body and be usable. If you shower daily, you are drastically inhibiting that absorption, which is where a large amount of Vitamin D comes from, second only to actual sun exposure. If you have fair skin, it is generated and absorbed significantly faster. Darker complexions take longer for both processes. An increasing number of homepathic Doctors appear to be recommending a shower once or twice a week. For the other days, a sponge bath will give the best result, cleaning the face, underarms, genitals and feet. Also remember that the sun should be above 50* to the horizon and must be direct sunlight. The UV rays are blocked by even standard windows, so you're body is only getting the sun's dangerous rays.

Check out the articles on Mother Earth News, Natural News or from Dr. Mercola.

Speaking of Vitamin D, I ran across this page with links to several articles on it from the "natural" point of view. I am a big believer in Vitamin D to help keep your immune system in good order.

...I'm not out in public as often or around a whole lot of people like most people are and I may come down with swine flu or pneumonia before the day is over BUT I have been taking Vitamin D3 for several years (5,000 IU/day now) and I have not had a cold, flu, etc in several years. Seems like I might have had one mild cold in about the five years. I started to come down with a sinus infection a couple weeks ago but it went away pretty quick. I give Vitamin D a lot of the credit for keeping me healthy. If I could just find something for arthritis! lol

Well! People actually GOT it this year! In the past people have given me a lot of "stuff". You know what I mean... Just. Stuff. Like electric toothbrush sanitizers and purple Santa light up lawn ornaments... Solar powered bobbleheads and a banana hook... Stuff that sits in the house desperately waiting for a regifting or for it to be old enough to get rid of wihtout offending... Not this year!

I got some incredible things... Some I didnt even ask for but love. I received a 48 gallon rain barrel, a really nice one with a hose gasket on it. I received a set of gardening tools including two trowels, an aerator, a small cultivator, two sizes of small pruning shears and a nice tote to put it all in.

I got my first real dose of chicken math. You see before this month our animal ownership has been strict and practical in regards to non pets. Then I brought home ten free chickens. Now my sister is going to help me get some Easter eggers or ameracaunas to add to my flock. I know this because of a hillarious thicken dog toy with a note around it. My dogs have been chewing on it in all manner of shameful ways and flipping it about and it is fantastic. So of COURSE I need to add another chicken or two to the flock! It is an Xmas present!

And my beau got me a Brinsea Mini incubator! So now I need hatching eggs to try it out! (Anyone got any cool eggs they wanna send me? :p) Which of course means I end up with even more chickens... What is a girl to do? I *have* to get these chickens!

I also got some nice kitchen stuff, an egg skelter (desperately needed) a new set of cutting boards... And new knives! Great for skimming Anne deboning these chickens!
