Fermenting Feed for Meat Birds

Yes that's it!! I had via IV twice a day for over 3 months. What a pain in the rear.....I couldn't go far unless I took everything with me. And sitting still for an hour or more while it infused was not to my liking. I'm not one to sit around lol
You mentioned your stomach had been messed up ever since......did they ever check for H pylori.....a bacteria that lives in the stomach that can cause ulcers??

You must have had osteomyelitis if they had you on antibiotics for 3 months.....that had to be tough......glad they got rid of the infection.

Sorry....I shouldn't ask so many personal questions, especially in a public forum......my mind is just wired that way. I will shut up now......well, if I can remember to.....

Quote: I have cut back so far that sugar makes me nauseous. I do low carb when I can but its difficult. thanks for the link. I am going to check at Whole foods to see if they carry it or an equivalent. After my first post I did some internet digging and the recommendation was to do 500mg at 20 percent three times per day. And to expect a major die off initially. Been through that but it took several weeks on Nystatin.
Yours fits the bill but would last only 20 days. I will check further.

You can't help it...I can't either. Assessment is something that just can't be turned off when you leave work, can it? I find myself doing it everywhere I go to nearly everyone I see.

I have a running dialogue in my head about this or that person's health indicators~skin, posture, gait, smell, sound, mobility~ as I wait in line at the store, watch people walk by as I'm waiting somewhere, meet someone new. It's the thrill of solving a puzzle or mystery and it's probably one reason why we went into the medical field in the first place.

Never checked for that but I'm def going to write that down to ask the dr at my next appt. and I've never had ulcers either. as to what I had all I know was it was a very nasty staph infection. I had to go see a 'germ dr' as my mom used to call him.
The funny part my surgeon didn't believe I had an infection because I ran such a low grade fever. Figured I would have high temp. My normal temp is always below normal so anything 100 or above is a temp for me. After 2 weeks he finally realized I was right lol.

I don't mind the questions lol And I am the same way, after so many years in EMS there isn't much that bothers me lol. Well except vomit. I hate it or the sound. When my son was sick I would give him a bucket and tell him to yell when he was done. When I have 911 calls and I can hear people on the ph I have to set the phone down. I am a sympathetic puker lol

Let's see... on the tinnitus causes...

Prolonged exposure to loud noises, I thought "no," then when carpentry was mentioned I had to say yes. My dad used to hang drywall for a living and during summer vacation from school, he would drag the oldest of us kids plus my Mom to the construction site and so my ears were assaulted all day long, day after day, by hammering noises!

Certain drugs? Excedrin. When I was in high school I had such a bad headache that I took multiple Excedrin just trying to get through the day. I ended up with my sister taking me to our chiropractor and he said I had an overdose because my ears were hissing (much like the tinnitus) and the headache hadn't lessened in the least.

I do grind my teeth at night sometimes.

Neck or head injuries? When I was just a little girl, my dad put me and all my siblings (4 of us) on the back of a horse (bareback) and ran alongside this horse as he trotted down the field in very long strides. The ride wasn't bumpy, in fact it was quite smooth, as was the hair on his back. I landed on the top of my head and got stepped on by our dog which was running along side as well. Don't remember where he stepped on me but at least it wasn't the horse that stepped on me.

I do drink coffee. I try to limit my intake to 3 cups or less per day.

Prevention? I'm beyond that but to lessen symptoms, I do still get headaches often and I limit my drug usage to two pills, twice (at least an hour or more apart). If that doesn't get rid of it, I'll just suffer. Sometimes though, if I still have a headache at bed time, I'll take an Excedrin PM. If it's bad, I'll take two because when I have a headache, I cannot sleep at all.

Blood pressure is in the normal range.

I've never had my cholesterol tested. No food allergies. Not diabetic but hypoglycemic.

I think that covers all the questions. Excedrin generally works for my headaches. Tylenol does not so I don't see much choice in not using it.

Also, my hearing is exceptional. In fact, in a crowded room (which I try to avoid) it seems I can hear and pretty much follow every conversation which is quite overwhelming. I think the tinnitus makes it so it is nearly impossible for me to shut out everybody else and just listen to one person. It's maddening. So I avoid crowds.

I'm right there with ya!

If you think your blood pressure is causing or worsening tinnitus, that NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED IMMEDIATELY with your physician.  Blood pressures high enough to affect that are plenty high enough to blow vessels in your eyes, brain, and kidneys.

Thanks Kassaundra. My blood pressure is usually fine. The times that it gets out of whack is when I'm sick usually. Thank God I'm not sick very often at all.

Where is a good place to order it? Whenever I get some money, I'll have to give it a try.

I ordered my kefir from Amazon called milk kefir grains $5.88 free ship sold by cultures for health by Atlantis Group Packed good. Added contents to 1/2 reg milk covered on counter for 24-36 hrs. Next day 1 c milk and so on up to 4 cups a day. Make sure they are growing before you increase past 1 c. I still don't do the whole 4 c because I don't need it. But man the chicks will adore the extra grains you have on hand. I tried giving some kefir in a bowl to our little diva house dog. She thought I was trying to kill her. But the cat went ballistic. Couldn't get enough.

Caught Toby up and hobbled him for tomorrow's butchering...loved on him a little and thanked God for the life of this good old bird. Placed him in a nest box along with Fannie for the night so they can keep each other company and stay warm.

Sweetums will be confined with the rest of the flock in the coop tomorrow and the next couple of days so that I can see if anyone has been laying out and also to get them acclimated to the new flock master. He already tried to breed with Fannie when she was trussed on the coop floor(had to rescue her and place her in a nest box with Tobe), so I'm thinking he may just be a real rooster under those prissy feathers after all. I'm hoping his breeding activities may stimulate the hormones of these barren young pullets in their 8th mo. of eggless existence.

I'll throw several apples and some BOSS in the bedding to keep them occupied while cooped up. This will give Sweetums a chance to establish his place in this flock and it shouldn't take long for the matrix to change.
