Just mixed up some more ff. Took the lid off one and it smelled sweeter, yippi! Still a little vomitish but getting better.

Mine is an old, old scoby now....it's been going for over a year now, same juices. It can smell a little rank.
Feed it some buttermilk. It's good for it's digestion. LOL
Okay guys, so after reading and asking a lot of questions I finally got to ferment. Yet I don't get bubbles or odor. I mixed layer pullets, water, buttermilk and boss. It just looks like water everything. My chickens love it but not sure if it is really fermented
That scoby is perfect! I wouldn't water it down with buttermilk.....![]()
Tell that to the birds!The really, really slimy upchuck smelling stuff from the very bottom of the bottom bucket gets dumped out on the ground a couple of times a year and they will fight the dog over it and every scrap of it is eaten, the ground is scratched up and the soil is even consumed that has the slime in it. To them that is caviar!
