Fermenting Feed for Meat Birds

Well maybe I'm just having an overly sensitive canadian moment. I've received some snarky replies on these forums - I guess on days like this I should stay off the computer.
I belong to a group of over 6,000 here in Costa Rica which is a group of folks to help others. Their are ones that seem to enjoy being "snarky" toward others and about others comments or ideas. It is a shame that it happens to folks who share what they have learned and/or what works for them. Don't let the droppings in the coop deter you from helping others, that is what this forum is, a group of folks helping others. I learn from every post, even if it is a "wrong way" of doing something then I don't waste my time trying the "wrong way". Keep on keeping on!

Don't ignore all the positive replies and focus on one you consider snarky. Go look. More than one thought it was great.

I'm sorry there are some that can get a bit snarky, but I don't think anyone really means to come across that way. Actually quite a few thought your idea was pretty darn good. You know, I'm old enough to remember when those stirrers first came out. Quite the invention and so simple too. And you were pretty inventive thinking to use it for another purpose:)

I don't think anyone was being snarky. I know I wasn't. It's just how I talk to friends and folks I know when we are discussing the pros and cons of a method. We use our hands a lot and facial expressions~which aren't a bit snarky in nature. It's usually said with a smile and shrug of the shoulders.

As with all forms of communication on the net, there is a lack of 95% of the real communication that goes on between people...body language, facial expression, tone and inflection. One has to take all that into account and realize that we are all sharing ideas here that are constantly being scrutinized and questioned and that is normal when wanting to learn about things.

If you wonder or think someone is being snarky about your ideas, ask them directly and they can tell you the truth of the matter. It's really the best method of finding out and not getting yourself worked into a wad over it.

I'm not sure but I got the idea that those who were being "snarky" had possibly sent "PMs". That has happened to me, if it is bad then I pass it on for moderation. No one has to tolerate personal attacks be they "snarky" or whatever. People should be removed if they can't play nice.

I think that stirrer is a great idea, especially for those who may find it painfulon their hands and wrists to manually stir. Of course, I think it's a good idea because I mentioned it a few weeks ago. ;)

I'm not sure if this has been asked, and there are so many pages to go through.. Does the wet feed freeze in really cold temperatures if you ferment it in a barn?
If it has moisture it probably will, thats why Bee was talking about putting hers inside hay bales . I know it would freeze here so I'll keep mine inside. and probably use a heated dog bowl for outside feeding. I can't even smell mine anymore but my son just got here and I have some draining he said what is that smell, so I guess I'm just use to it. But honestly It really doesn't smell bad even when i could smell it.

I'm sure no offense was intended.
Stirring air into the mix would definitely benefit the FF mix. Not all ferments like extra oxygen but this kind would.
I thought your idea was a good one especially for those who might have a strength challenge or a really deep bucket/container.
Don't go away please :hugs

I have 2 x 5 gallon buckets going with 3 parts mash and 1 part grains. That crud on the bottom is a pain to mix in. With the paint mixer, it takes a fraction of the time with a fraction of the effort.

The fermentation process has kicked into over-drive since I started using.

To be honest, I'm getting tired of sharing my ideas here.
