Fermenting Feed for Meat Birds

ACV - apple cider vinegar
FF - fermented feed
IMO - indigenous micro-organism
LAB - lactic acid bacteria
UP - unpasturized

I'll look through for other abbreviations and put them here, as well, if you like.

Not really related to the FF, but has been used here in the thread (specifically in my last couple of posts):

ABV - Alcohol by volume
SG - specific gravity

Just had some new chicks hatch so I set up the water with some acv. Thinking of fermenting the starter for them. Last time I did this No one had pasty butt.

And UP is unpasturized? Thanks everyone!!!

Can you start day old chicks on fermented feed? I've been using it for my adult layers, but will be getting chicks soon. Do you just ferment the starter feed, or add anything else into it?

Thanks!
