Fermenting Feed for Meat Birds

So this "Judge" will shoot both a .410 and a .45?  That sounds pretty cool!  I'll have to look that one up.

We have a lot of open carriers here in my state too.  I have no idea how many concealed carriers we have.  My husband is one of them though and he says that if you open carry and you find yourself in a place where some unsavory character wants to force his will onto those around him, he will take out those who open carry first.

Either way, I feel quite safe here.  It's nice to know there are so many like minded people who aren't gonna put up  with any of that BS that goes on in so many places.

Yeah and it's a pretty nice looking gun. The last time I checked it ran $400-450 (used) here where I am. There are some youtube videos about it. I wanted one when they first came out but didn't get it. I'd rather get used anyhow. Seems like there are two companies making revolvers that shoot .410 shells...?

Getting a concealed carry permit is another thing on my list of things to do. I should have already done it. I feel pretty safe here too at the moment. There for a while we were having a lot of break-ins. That was a bad feeling and it ticked me off! I imagine my barking dogs kept our house from being hit.

Oh, yeah!  Especially when this ol' fat girl tries to surf!  Always wanted to learn to surf....  :woot

Me too! I love surfing! I believe I could watch it for hours on TV. I'm too big of a clutz, probably couldn't ever learn to, and that's just as well because if I could I'd be wanting to move somewhere to a beach! lol I have always wanted to move to a secluded beach area anyhow. :(

Let's go! LOL Now that would be interesting, two hick chicks hit Hawaii - Thelma and Louise with a chickeny Christian twist. HA!

Yes, the Judge will shoot both .45 Long Colt and .410 shotshells. Being a five-shot revolver, you can arrange it any way you please. Some alternate between the two for accuracy, then maximum spread, accuracy, etc. Others load three .45 rounds and then two shotshells. You can quickly flip out the cylinder, spin to the correct type of ammunition and be back on target in about a second, if you practice. It makes it ideal for what Willow is talking about for the exact reasons she mentioned. Accuracy for the dog with a chicken in the mouth, bird shot for that darn snake that's creeping up on your brooders. Those prices are very reasonable, too. They are a minimum of $500+ down here, closer to the $600-650 range.

That's my only problem with the surfing, though I have gone body boarding in low surf conditions anyway...terrified every step of the way but did it anyhow and loved it all. Now, I'm not so scared of anything like that...I say, bring it on!

There might be a movie in that huh? "Hick Chicks Gone Bad"! LOL

You keep on you're going to talk me into buying one of those things! lol I need about $1,000 just for big girl toys - electric poultry fence, electronic shock collar (gift for my dog hehe), a Judge, etc. My boyfriend was talking about the money I have spent on/for chickens. I said well it's better than spending it on dope, or drinking, or running around, or a closet full of purses or shoes! He'd probably rather me spend it on purses and shoes, they wouldn't cause him work! LOL He doesn't like chickens. I think he got his fill of taking care of chickens when he was a kid. Maybe I need to get him his own personal silky! lol They are kinda cute in their own way, just don't look like a chicken. Now if I ever start making money with chickens he might soften up a little bit, maybe.

Yeah the thought of sharks is a problem for me too. Yikes! Do sharks eat whales? I might be in trouble if the do! LOL Now I know those die hard environmentalist would hate me but... I think if there is a creature out there that is going to try to eat me or do me in, I want to kill it before it does me and eat it if I can cook it up tasty. Those commercials about save the polar bears and such drive me crazy. I'm thinking, "You fools, those things will hunt you down and EAT YOU!"

Yeah..I don't get all sentimental about how misunderstood sharks are at all...I don't believe for one moment that I misunderstand them. Some eat people, some do not...those that do, need to die, those that do not can stick around. Doesn't matter if I'm in "their" world when I swim, there are tons of other things they can chew on except human...shoo, shark, ya botha me!

lol yeah my hubby was like that to about chickens because as a kid they had the chicken houses and he had to tend to them all the time. I have FINALLY got me some chickens and he's starting to want to do things for them now believe it or not. So he's getting addicted to.

He keeps telling me, I'm going to go let them out to free range or I'm going to go lock their back gate when they got on the roost. I told him the other day, I think you're beginning to enjoy these chickens and he says, I am.

Just not the same as having a chicken house full of the critters and HAVING to do it for a living. :)
