Fermenting Feed for Meat Birds

You just had to destroy my fairy tale didn't you?  (Ha, ha......)  They so happily go to sleep in our laps we think its LOVE.  Oh well, back to life!

Beverly... you do know that should you fall down and die in the coop those sweet little birds will eat you, right? LOL

So right! I wish I had taken a pic of my chickens today as they picked a deer carcass like a group of buzzards. I always tease my mother about not falling down out there and hitting her head because they would definitely be feasting on her body before the day was out.

I would venture to say it would happen quicker in a flock that was used to approaching humans and getting a hand out from them...mine would take awhile because they've been taught that to humans, chickens are food... not friends. Their fear of that alone would cause them to hesitate a bit...but then they would take a beak full just to get the flavor and tenderness of the meat offering that had been placed in their yard. After that it would be like land piranhas.

Nah! She knows she's too tough for them anyway...it would be old chickens trying to gnaw on an old Bat. She figures they'd soon choke on her tough sinews. My mama is a rough, tough lady.

I think BUD, the unchicken, would take the first bite....

I think my Roo would be the first to take a taste...I think he likes the taste of flesh lol :hide

Mine too! He'd love to pay me back for whacking him in the head a couple weeks ago. It was almost a suicide attack on his part. hahaha

I'm still not so sure I would give a red eyed chicken a ride home with me! Yikes!!! How is old Bud? Does he still have a catch in his get-along? LOL
