Hi there Rose! I'm fairly new here & was enjoying your posts. Glad to see you're still around.

I don't envy your weather right now all of you down in the states. We'll get our share of crappy weather come Jan/Feb. Maybe a spring blizzard to boot!
Well today its in the high 70's but tonight it might be 20. lol that's our south MS. weather. Cold one day using the heat and hot the next with AC on. lol BUT I'll take it over freezing cold and snow anyday. :D

Bee... thanks much for the info! We have lots of "green onions" here in the spring. They have a much thinner blade on them and boy do they stank. lol People talk about when the milk cow use to eat green onions in the spring and the milk tasting just like them. Yuck! lol

I actually believe I have seen those growing around here. I thought they were just some real healthy plantain. lol. I LOVE learning about things like this! I really really wish I knew all the edible plants out there. Do they come out in the spring? I will be looking for them! Thanks again!

Question... do you eat the onion part and the blade?

Just been busy with life Bee. Dragging a little these days. Still got some of that congesting in my chest but getting better every day. The weather is changing so much every 2-3 days it's hard on the sinuses and stuff. Been trying to do a little cleaning around here it's all piling up on me. lol Got out there the other day putting some more DL in the chickens pen and wore my mask.

Then swept up a bunch to put in the flower beds to. God has RICHLY provided the leaves and straw this year it is unbelievable just HOW MUCH! Still more out there to be had. Suppose to have company over tomorrow to make some Christmas decorations for outside. Was SUPPOSE to do that today and hubby and I had stomach aches last night and I was worried we might be getting that stomach virus that's been going around and didn't want to have her over IF we were getting sick. I think it was some coffee I bought though. We are eating really clean these days and not using a lot of stuff and that coffee had something in it that did not agree with us at all. :( Mine is still hurting today. Not eating much today and hoping it's gone like really fast. lol Hubby said his was feeling better.
Sorry to make you worry!

Yep...both parts. But those who protect their ramp beds like to keep some of the bulbs in the ground to keep the bed going. They also will harvest the seeds and intentionally plant them to insure the growth and spread of the bed. Spring is the time for ramps.

Just rain so far for us...lots and lots of rain.  Makin' my bones ache like a toothache but no ice as of yet.  The birds are out in it like it's a spring rain so the worms must be drowning in their burrows and coming up for air.  I've cut back from 4 c. of feed to 3 c. due to the unseasonably warm weather and increase on foraging causing the flock to leave FF in the trough.

Ditto here, makes me achy too.

I can sure understand that! And God blessed us with a good leaf fall this year too...I'm STILL raking up leaves and that's unheard of as they are usually blown away by now. That rooster pen is wading around in a foot of leaves right now....but you can't smell a thing there, even with 14 birds confined and pooping up a storm.

Just glad you are doing better!

I'll have to check on this come spring! :) I suppose y'all have polk salad don't you?
