RAMPS: If I get bored in mid to late January and there's a bit of snow on, I will go into the 'ramp patch' and dig out a mess by finding the old seed stalk. Lots of people still do that and have ramps for sale around that time but they are priced something like truffles.
They have no leaves, just the sets and they are so good. I buy them once in a while at that time but I do have a pretty good load of them in my cellar in leaf bedding. I buy those along the side of the road just to save what I've got and to kinda' support people who are 'go-getters' because it's not the easiest thing to do, even if you know the stalk.
