That'll kick start the fermentation process, and add in some extra nutrients as well Shouldn't need too much; depending on how much feed you're fermenting, a cup would innouculate a 5 gallon bucket with enough to keep it going.

I brew my own so its not pasteurized

So do you keep the feed in the smaller bucket? Going to the grocery store today and going to ask the deli & bakery if they have any food grade buckets they need to get rid of

Kombucha, raw ACV, it's all lacto bacillus. which is what you are cultivating.
