FERN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sound like quite a few Dellie lovers setting eggs this Friday .... Germaine, JamesA, you, and me (and I think there's another one). Germaine and I are setting Buckeye eggs from James. Are you, also?

On another note. I am looking at Holly's future.... I am thinking she and Obama could make so really pretty baby chicks!

I hope Fern would approve of that match!

What is it with these BR's???? I've noticed that Rachel and Rosie make quite a formidable tag team themselves! Why, just today, they snatched a particularly delectable goodie away from FussyButt, despite her best efforts at evasion!

And here's how these two diabolical little wenches goes about it.....Rachel will come up on one side of their victim and gain the victims attention...while said victim turns aside to avoid Rachel's lunging beak, Rosie dives in from the other side to swipe the goody straight from the victims beak! And then it's OFF TO THE RACES WE GO!!!!!

Once Rosie has gained a substantial lead and all contenders have dropped away, she waits for Rachel to catch up to her where they divvy up the spoils of the snatch and run! It's the funniest durned thing ya ever saw.

I wonder if a good roo could get these two little marauders back under control?!? Nobody stands a chance of enjoying a peaceful munching of goodies with Rachel and Rosie around! Barred Rocks: Gotta love 'em!

No, Kathy, I decided against the Buckeyes for now. I am thinking of doing some tweaking of my system here and since I wouldn't be keeping a Buckeye rooster, thought maybe I'd let someone else step up and take my eggs I was going to get from James.

Ivy hasn't laid an egg this week for me and that is such a bummer! I know hers would be pullets (or am reasonably sure), but guess I'll have to substitute Fern's. Will be setting some Ameraucana eggs, sired by Isaac. That should be interesting. Will do some of my Blue Orp, Dusty's, eggs since she is laying again after her molt. Since I'll be using my Hovabator with turner this time, I'll only be able to set 42 eggs or less. Most of the chicks will be for sale. So, the list is:

Delawares
Barred Rocks, my stock and someone else's
Blue Plymouth Rocks
Del/Ameraucana crosses
and possibly a couple of blue Wheaten Ameraucana eggs and some possible surprises.

Well, sounds like you will have a bator full anyway!
I like the surprises as much as anything .... like opening a Christmas gift ! That's how I ended up with these 3 cute little Frizzles. I don't plan to keep them (or the 6 Seramas), but they sure are entertaining to look at! DH and I had never even heard of a Frizzle, much less seen one!

Cyn, I noted you didn't put Orps on that list - who is the daddy of Dusty's eggs? If you are hatching BBS, you know I am looking for a wifey or two for Ultrasuede.

Oh, yeah, Dusty's babies are, of course, sired by Suede. Since there are probably only 4-5, forgot to list the breed. I'm wondering how long it will be before I can reliably tell the blue Rock babies from the blue Orp babies, as it takes a little while for the Rock legs to turn really yellow from baby-pinkish. If the BBS Orps hatch, Beth, you are welcome to come get them as soon as I know for sure which is which, unless I can mark them some way at hatch. That may be tough, but I'll try. .
