This might be stupid, as I’m not an egg expert, but is this fertile looking? I’ve heard fertile eggs have a white, ringed dot in the yolk.

It looks like it could be...

I've found it difficult to get good, clear pictures of the little white targets. I think what I finally did was put the eggs in ambient light with neither hot spots nor shadows & steady my camera in some way (like resting my elbows on the counter & keeping them and the camera close to my body.)

That said, I'm gonna go with a yes. Put a batch in the incubator or under a broody. You'll have your answer in 3-7 days.

I don’t actually have a roo, nor do I want to hatch chicks, but I was wondering. It’s very unlikely now that I think about it, but what I meant to ask was: do infertile eggs have the white dot?

The first one looks fertile to me, I can't tell with the second one, as the previous poster said the bluriness is a factor. I also agree the easiest way to tell is to try and incubate them. I put the 4 first eggs of one of my girls into the incubator and after 3 days I candled and could see development in three, I didn't notice her being mated until after her first egg was laid and I'm guessing that was the one that didn't show development.

Edited to add: But if you don't have a rooster, it's highly unlikely that they are fertile.

Yes, every egg has a blastoderm. It's the part that would eventually grow into a chick if it was fertilized. The rest of the egg is just food for that growing chick.
