Hello I have no quail but I've been casually learning about them over the winter and I'm thinking of giving them a shot later in the summer, maybe as a birthday present to myself. I have this old chicken coop/run that's about 110 square feet total. I was thinking of doing the proper modifications and turning it into my little quail pen. I just had a few questions:

    1) What is the slaughter date for jumbo coturnix quail?

    2) Can I raise all the males/females together until slaughter date or will I need to sort them out and separate them before that time comes?

    3) How many eggs per day do jumbo coturnix lay?

Friend wants 100 for his wedding in August and I'm just trying to gauge whether or not I'll be able to deliver.

    1) 8 weeks for jumbo, 6 weeks for standard Cots..
    2) Together until slaughter is O.K. but at breeding age, 6 -8 weeks, they'll reach sexual maturity, the males may get aggressive and the hens will begin laying..
    3) 1 egg a day
