Well, I have 7 chickies at the moment. I'm worried about one of them. He came out with membrane over his face. I took him out to clean him up, but he is still more or less just laying there, and hasn't really lifted his head or opened his eyes. He came out 4 hours ago. His feathers have pretty much dried so that he looks exactly like he did when he emerged from the egg. He's chirping and breathing okay, so I hope he comes out of it, but for now, he has me worried.

As for the remaining eggs, they seem content to take their time. I have 2 others that have pipped but othertahn that, things have settled down for a while it seems.

Im brand new to chickens and ducks altogether, only this month. I just made an online purchase of a new incubator. Have alot to learn. Good luck to YOU. and me when Im ready. I want to try Delawares amd Chanteclers, haven't been able to find young pullets around me so will try buying some online eggs and doing my own.

I haven't a clue, aint done this before, ever. Don't got the bator yet, or eggs, or anything. Maybe I'll wait till next spring anyway and do alot of reading in the meantime. I don't want tiny tiny chicks being left at home when I go deer hunting in Nov.

I just set my first eggs on Saturday night. Seramas, and OEGB. This is my first time ever hatching my own chicks!!! I borrowed an incubator from a fellow BYC'er. I sure hope i have everything right! I have two thermometers in there, for some reason, they are two degrees different in measurement. Wish I could know which one to believe. The humidity has been pretty steady, with only a few adjustments. I was told Seramas need 50% humidity. My kids snuck in a few extra eggs on Sunday and Monday, so i might have some late hatchers?? I plan on candling next Monday or Tuesday.

I have a hen that just went broody for the first time. I pulled a few eggs out of the 'bator for her to try, as I know her own eggs aren't fertile. Hopefully a big fluffy Australorp will be a good mama for tiny OEGB bantams!!

Didn't have much else to work with! The Serama eggs are even smaller!
