Finale..The pile of steel is no more.....it's a finished coop

Awesome, job. Love the "supervisors" Hey you could mount that on wheels very easy, if you needed to roll it up onto a trailer.

One question though. Where are the windows going? And the vents to help air circulation even in winter its important to get stale are out and fresh air in. FWIW you can frame the windows first then cut them out and put in hardware cloth and a swing open window on the outside. Simple to do with leftover materials.

Wow! That looks great, and such beautiful land you have! My girls all love my dog's bed too. It makes me laugh because they have run of our yard and all eight of them congregate on this 4ft diameter dog bed.

Looking really great! Can't wait to see the next set of progress pictures.

The corrugated roof is half metal and is half clear plastic to let in plenty of light....that was my suggestion to hubby, and he took it on board.

The corrugations of the roof allow ventilation at high level to prevent nasty draughts in the rather brisk winds we have in the winter.

All floor boards and cladding panels are screwed on with special long screws so panels can be removed as needed.

The perches rest in metal cups, so they can be removed, too (for cleaning out).

The wheels certainly sound a good idea.....we could then drag it long with the ATV....I'll get hubby on the case!

Any suggestions very gratefully received.....The nest boxes have already been modified as they had a single top lid which did not seem to be very water tight and was heavy and that has now been modified to 3 lift in side flaps which will do the job much better.

It's done, the drawbridge is lowered, they're totally ignoring it.

I still have to make the "Chicken Shack" sign. Now all it needs is chickens....and there's plenty of those......just they are not interested right now.

6 egg boxes which they probably will never use, 2 perches.....ditto, and plenty of room to move around.

I'm sure that it isn't perfect, but for hubby's first attempt, not bad at all.

Actually, it's only just been opened, and they are off wandering somewhere...they free range over quite a few acres....so I am hoping that they will come in tonight and discover the nest boxes with straw and fake eggs ( a heavy hint).
