finally...a colorful basket! please post yours too! i want more inspiration!

Wow, those are all some beautiful baskets! I've dreamed of the colorful baskets since I started looking. My wife threw a wrench in to my breed plans when she decided she wanted Silkies. So, as it stands once they start laying, I'll be having two light brown layers from the Silkies and two brown layers from my Barred Rocks. Next weekend, I'll be getting some week-old Black Copper Marans and will add the dark brown. I definitely need to add some color to it. I have to get rid of my two dogs first, though, and then build a larger coop. The dogs are the biggest hangup, though.

Those were some classy photos you guys took, too. I would love to get original copies of both photos that Coop de Grille posted and WalkingOnSunshine's photo, minus the regular egg carton. That would be great to blow them up to 8"x10", frame them and put them above my sliding glass door to the porch!

You can certainly have any photos I've got. I think I have another one without the carton. We took them for our website, and to sell our eggs. You'd better believe that the green and blue eggs move the cartons! Lemme look. In the meantime, PM me your email address and I'll send them over.

This one is my favorite:

The first few eggs from my flock! They were supposed to be all ameraucanas, but looks like he accidentally gave me some of his French copper marans too? Anyone recognize the breed from the terra cotta colored eggs? I think the hens laying them are the 2 gray hens that don't have beards and ear tufts all the other hens do.

Gorgeous! can you post photos of your ladies? Those nice brown eggs could come from different breeds, marans, welsummer, barnevelder, penedesenca...

Three and almost a half dozen...the most eggs I've had in a while! I only have brown egg layers, but really want to add an Ameraucana or at least an Easter Egger to the flock.
I mark the date (and occasionally name of the hen or pullet) on the eggs with a pencil.

with that EE rooster you have, you could end up with some interesting light olive layer....mmmm! Beautiful brown line up!

Here's my flock! The rooster is French copper marans, but the hens were supposed to be ameraucanas. The buff hens I believe lay the light olive eggs. The two gray hens in the other photo are the ones I think are laying the terra cotta colored eggs. I'm glad they were mixed in, though! I love the different colors :)

It is nicer to have them mixed, i totally agree! They are gorgeous! I think the buffs are easter eggers, the black ameraucanas, but they could be the olive eggers too! the blue ladies are beautiful, not sure what they are, don't think they are ameraucana nor easter eggers.

I think the 2 blue hens may be blue French marans. I love that bright green speckled egg you have in your mix! I may just have to get more! I'd love to have some green and pink eggs too.
