Finally an external pip

Some of mine rocked and rolled then was still. Mine that wasn't externally piped didn't make it. As long as they are peeping and a few shivers and movement it is all good. Once they decide to zip they really zip they go in a circular motion so you make not see the external pip that could be facing down. I haven't seen any that pip not hatch. I believe toy will see babies in the next 8-10hrs give or take.

Ok the one that pipped around 3pm yesterday is starting to get dark circles around where it pipped. Is that a bad sign? Should I be worried? I am trying not to worry because I do hear the 2nd one peeping and slight rocking every once in a great while but I AM worried about the 1st one.

Dark blotches are normal. That happens when they are turning around or moving inside of the egg. They are scratching the membrane with their toe nails. The membrane still has blood vessels with some blood that hasn't been absorbed yet. That is why you cannot rush them or they will bleed really bad.

OMGosh, LOL I read my post and it's hard posting on my blackberry, tiny tiny print so I don't know what kind of spelling will come out until I get onto my lap top. Any more development? Do you see the pip getting bigger and zipping around?

Hi! I'm beginning to wonder if your incubator might have been running a bit cool.
Mine (set just after yours) are hatched (well, seven 'Lings out and one pipped then passed).
I *thought* their 'new mom' was coming to get them earlier this evening, but I guess I get to brood them a few days.
The only advice I can offer is to keep the humidity up and cross your fingers. If it were here, I'd probably be getting ready to intervene. If your temperatures are slightly low, though, that could be the reason they taking longer. Any new pips?
Good luck and fingers crossed!

No new eggs that have pipped, but the 1st one to pip is starting to move its butt along i think. I was just watching and talking and I saw it push some more of the shell out 3 times so I'm hopefull once it starts, it will keep going..

I have 3 that have not pipped or anything. 1 I don't think made it because last i candled there was no air sac. And the other 2 only had very slight movement when i last candled. So i'm hoping maybe the pipped on the bottom where i can't see. But I have 2 that have pipped. I will be happy with 2 hatching although I would like more. I had 7 to begin with. 1 was porous, 1 quit, 2 pipped, 1 no air cell and 2 slight movement so we'll see what actually happens. I'm going to go watch and cheer and see what happens.
