Finally caught the culprit

either a river otter, mink, weasel or an ermine. ermine could be what it is. Google it and check out the pictures.

Absolutely a member of the weasel family. Depending upon size, perhaps an otter, but more likely a mink.

The river otter does not have fully webbed hind feet. Still thinking otter, just because we see them daily here all spring, summer, and fall...
