Finally caught the stray Min Pin - new pics

She is cute! What a package this breed is! They think they are Rottweilers and they eat anything that doesn't try to eat them first.

I too have a min pin I found running down my street. It spent the night snuggled under our blankets in bed with hubby and I !! The next day I found the owner through the local animal shelter and she gave him to me! He has owned us for 5 years now.

Well Prissy has only been here a few hours and is already best friends with our last stray, a previous feral kitten that just loves to play and is still a bit wild. They are chasing each other through the house and playing like they've know each other all their lives.

I think Prissy is going to do well here. She is already fitting right in with our three big dogs (Shepherds) and three cats and a goat that is in a kennel inside with a broken leg. I just don't know how someone could dump such a sweet, well-mannered little dog. DH thinks she's barely more than a puppy but looks to me like she has all her big girl teeth. I know someone dumped her because she has stuck close to the same spot on the street for two weeks. Probably waiting for them to come back for her. There are no other houses for miles and that street, though a small twisting turning one lane country road, is driven like a mini-highway. It's the road to Angola Prison and people drive it at 80 mph. It's a mircale she hasn't been hit.

I have fallen in love with little Miss Prissy.

Little Prissy is a doll. I bet she's thanking her lucky stars that you saw through the big fight and got her inside. I hope you have a happy life all together!

Since she was stray, I'd get her microchipped while you are at the vets. It's a good way to establish YOUR ownership if it ever comes up "later" when someone sees you with "their'' dog.

I once spent almost a thousand dollars cleaning up, grooming and medically treating a dog that I found and ended up in a serious legal war over. Owner saw the dog all cleaned up and healthy and wanted it back. It was before microchips. Permanent identification would really have helped.

Make sure vet runs an erlichia test with all those ticks on the baby. I'm running 1 in 3, or 1 in 4 now for dogs coming in with ticks AND erlichia ( form of lymes). And every other one has heartworm.

On the lighter side, WOOHOO, we finally paid of the last of the vet debt accrued on rescues so far this year. Gotta love a zero balance!

God bless you for taking her in. Wish more people would make room for them.

Good for you !! I am so glad you have taken her in to take care of her. You know she HAS to feel so much better now without all the ticks and stuff all over her!!! Congratulations on your new little girl!!
I too have a min pin....he is a red. and he really does think he is bigger than my big dobermans!!

Here's a pic of Prissy where you can see how skinny she is.

And here is Prissy and Scarlett on sofa on sun porch.

Today we bought her her own bed, red jeweled collar, and toys - can anyone say "Spoiled"? She even got to sleep with me last night and I shared my lunch with her today - two things I never do. She just has a way of looking at you that wins you over.

Believe it or not Scarlett is just a puppy herself, only five months old. Every day she gets bigger right before my eyes. She's going to be huge. She's already almost as big as Rex, our six year old GSD.

Scarlett and Prissy will certainly make a Mutt & Jeff team.
