    I've seen some large snapping turtles in Eagle Lake in Ontario (between Vermilion Bay and Dryden)... which surprised me... but apparently the cold isn't an issue for them. :idunno

    Yeah, I'm guessing the mountains would have a lot to do with why you don't have them?
