FINALLY!!! GLW LAYED AN EGG (5/15 hatchling) HUZZAH HUZZAH HUZZAH

Dot is a freeloading Cluck no more!

Last night I heard the egg song but this am no egg - Thought she was sleeping in the nest box - kicked her out and she went right back up and got to business and layed her first egg! I guess I should not have kicked her out of the box but she likes to sleep there and poop in the box and I no likey that!

She was hatched 5/15/09 and I thought she was never going to get around to it! Sister Lutzie still Free loading! But she was injured as a chick and is a little delayed in growth so I will cut her a little slack but not much!

So of my 5 pullets
1 egg layer from 5/15 hatching of 2 both GLW
1 egg layer from 7/20 hatching of 3 but she is the Barred Rock Substitution sweetie pie has to date layed 4 eggs!!!
Waiting on the other 3 to quit free loading and get to laying some eggs!

my 3 glw were hatched in april and didnt start laying until november. i feel your pain.

Congrats! I keep thinking mine won't lay till Spring. She's a 6/3/09 hatch, on the small size and showing no signs, but I guess there's hope!
