They're peeping up a storm:lol:

It was only an order of 25 at the feed store. I think they came from Belt Hatchery. We were there when the postal truck drove up so we saw the box opened - they all looked active and healthy.

We have a Buff Orpington, a Delaware (she's the most dainty, I think) an Ameracauna (or more appropriately an EE?) and a Buff Brahma who seems to be emerging as a fave of visitors.

They all figured out food/water as soon as we showed it to them. Other than this intrusion their day has gone pretty smoothly. I don't think he meant to hurt them, he was just checking to make sure they had the proper paperwork to join the family

So cute!

My cat did essentially the same thing; he would sit on the brooder. I think he was enjoying the heat lamp. He fell in a few times, but I think the cardboard may have just capsized under his weight. LOL.
Good luck with your new chicks! I love all of those breeds, my feeds store didn't have any of those breeds or I would have got them.

awww..... my feed store orders from belt hatchery, but they dont sell buff brahmas....... they sell light brahmas...

Oh, and MY MOM LIKES THE CHICKS TOO.... sorry i didnt mean for that to be on caps lock....

Just be careful and supervise the cat closely. They carry a TON of bacteria in their mouths and claws, so one dainty scratch, or even a bit of saliva, will kill your chicks. Just an FYI

Oops - my mistake - it is a Light Brahma, not a Buff Brahma. Still a newbie and not keeping my breeds straight. But the rest of them are correct.

We're keeping the brooder in an area off-limits to the cats so we shouldn't have any more feline "fishing expeditions". Our little Coton, however, badly wants to be a mom to the chicks:

She whimpers when she hears them peep and wants to be close to them - but is afraid to get TOO close. She's a scaredy cat.

they are sooooooooo cute!!!! any more close up pictures? are the chicks freindly?

just wondering about belt hatchery... Keep me updated

cute
It looks like the dark brown one is the EE. Haven't seen one that dark before.
Hatcheries sell EEs as pure Ameraucana when they are not.
