After two years of wanting them since I started keeping chickens. I was just never in the right place at the right time. Seven little cuties and each one is just a little bit different.
They are three weeks old now and last weeks I got 6 one week old barred rocks. I put them right in the brooder with the EEs. I was afraid at first....there is such a big difference in size at this age....but I was so happily surprised that they all took very well to each other. I even noticed that a couple of th EEs actually started to act "mother hen" ish..
Oh and Im expecting newborns out in the coop sometime this week. My brood buff orp is in the second coop in the upstairs all by herself. Doez anyone know if my store boughts would get along with the new babies when its time for them to go out in the coop?
I know about introducing older chicks to an existing flock but with them all being about the same age Im just wondering if I wouldnt have to go through all that.
P.S. I using a friends droid and if I can figure out how to post a pic I will. They are just so darn cute!
