What a long day!! Just got some of my work caught up. No I mean partly caught up! Its been nice here today in the low-mid eightys, alot better than those 95* last week. Just checked my bator no pips but I expect some about the crack of daylight. Sure hope these are not like last week.

Today is day 18 for me. I am getting ready to turn my swap eggs for the last time and bump up the humidity and sit on my hands and wait. I started out with 12 CM eggs and had to toss 6 of them, so I hope that these 6 hatch.

My silkies are on Day 19 here, nothing going on yet but I think my temps were on the low end so maybe a little late. I didnt want to mess with decent temps in a homemade incubator and chance huge temp swings so I left well enough alone.

I wonder if looking in on them every five minute will make them hatch any faster?

Day 20 today...no pips

...I'm starting to get worried now. I thought sure I'd have at least pips by now. I don't see any moving eggs...of course they're in a carton and that might prevent some movement. I thought my temps were on the higher side but after thinking about it, I had those temp swings. When it would swing up, I would have to turn it down...then it would go to 96 or so and I would have to turn it back up. So maybe the average was a bit low. I dunno'...just want some pippin' going on...

Like M.Prissy said you may not have pips till day 21. Be patient.

keep the faith gator!!! you're babies will pip! i've heard that silkies pip earlier than other breeds of chicken.

ALL my silkies have pipped now, one has its beak out. both of the frizzles have also pipped. nothing from the lone polish egg. cmon chickies!!! let's go!!
