Apparently I'm not allowed to leave. Lol she starts peeping really loud, so I come check on her, then she jumps in my hand and goes back to sleep.

I want sooo bad to buy an incubator and do this method as none of my chickens have gone broody ..yet. But, I tend to be...a tad bit OCD... at least I admit it. With things related to my pets, and I know I would not sleep for at least 21 days, besides, driving my hubby crazy...so awesome job!, how many did you incubate? And, did you obsess...I’m guessing yes, since your pictures started so early this morning!! Great job...and keep flashing those pictures!! You’ve got a set of new stars on your hands!!

LOL! I am a little bit obsessive...yes hehee. The first few nights they were in the incubator I didn’t sleep well, kept checking the heat and humidity. And then when it was always constant, it got easier. But I still checked it several times a day. And I’m still checking everything over and over with the other eggs. We have ten more hatching! Two more pips so far! And I did drive my hunny a little nuts

This little one was a bit of an early bird. She pipped on day 19.

I am so excited though!! They are so freaking adorable!

So this chick pipped about 3 this morning, and it’s 8. I’ve been very hands off, and I’m not interested in disturbing if I don’t have to. But it was only able to break off a bit of the outside shell and make a tiny hole, the size of a needle.
Anyone have a chick pip like this and it be okay?

Chick number two is born at 9am! Moved her to the brooder as the humidity has climbed in the incubator. I’ve discovered the way to do it without disturbing the humidity for the other pippers.
