Do chickens EVER stand still and look pretty when you're trying to take pictures? It's a terrible day for it, it's sprinkling rain and very windy, but I'm sick of waiting!!

A few of the girls and Chanticleer doing what they do best... eating!

Chanticleer mid-stride, bound and determined to not show off his pretty shape. I never got a good picture of him in the half hour I braved the cold.

Here are a couple of photos of Leroy, just because he was the only one that really wanted his picture taken!

Thank you! And please excuse the mess, we've been working on the coop and so the box in the background is odds and ends of 2x4s that we thought we might use so didn't throw out - they'll be going into a better storage system once we've got the roof finished this weekend

.

The plastic bucket was kitchen scraps I had taken out to coax them out of the coop... I can now see why they were all huddled inside waiting this craptastic weather out.

I love those chicks - they're so cute at that age! We've got 16 running around right at that age - yours look just lovely! And thank you everyone for the compliments. We think the Dominiques are just beautiful - I love when their silver and barred feathers glisten in the sunlight, and they look perfect out pecking in the pasture.
