Like these, maybe.

I've had 2 chicken dreams before I even placed my order. I think I've dove head first into this insanity and I'm going to love every second of it. You see this whole thing started when my DH came home telling me about his boss' chickens and that he thinks we should get some. I thought he was crazy, mostly because when I was younger, a friend of mine raised fighting roosters and I was chased by one, and then a couple years later I was chased by a huge flock of wild turkeys. So I didn't like birds very much. But he kept pestering me about it so I began to look into chickens. Then I agreed to get ONLY chickens, no roosters what-so-ever. And no I've become that crazy animal lady who wants chickens (roosters too), pigs, cows, goats, sheep and even bees. I have never been one for normalcy. I really can't wait. DH said we are not keeping all 25 birds but we will, he's just as much of a push over as I am. Thanks everyone for indulging me and my insanity.

If you do decide that 25 are too many, put an ad on Craigslist to find good homes for the excess. Someone close by who wants chicks but is too cheep

(like me) to pay the shipping charges will be very happy to reimburse you for their cost. We were going to order the Assorted Small Order Special from Randall Burkey in Boerne, TX for $29.99 but the shipping charge is more than the cost of the chicks.

I looked on Craigslist and found what we wanted from a couple who live east of Sutherland Springs. They want $2/chick. They have nine chicks up for adoption. I'm getting four of them and a work friend wants three so I'll pick up hers too. I hope they still have seven when we get there!

Oh don't worry, if we get rid of any of them we will wait until they don't need to be in a brooder anymore and we will make sure that they go to great homes. Unless we know someone who wants them before they are ready to be out of the brooder and we know they can take care of them. I don't even have them yet and they are already my babies.
