Finally they've bred

Update 6/10/18 (10/5/18 in the NH)

On the 2/10/18 (or 10/1/18 to you folks in the Northern Hemisphere because you are a day behind) finally :bowI had some Serbian Highflyer squabs hatch from the pair which abandoned the last egg. I’ve been checking the squabs daily and they are a good and healthy size.

Sadly :(the newer pair of highflyers abandoned their one fertile egg, but the ‘Show quality’(that don’t roll) Birmingham Rollers are still on their one fertile egg. Also the fantail pair have two fertile eggs.

A week or two ago I got two pairs of white fantails, and both the girls have layed their first eggs in the past few days:celebrate, so I’ll be able to breed more fantails again YAY:wee , I will not make the same mistake as last time.

I will get some photos, and won’t take a week to upload them.

I was going to take photos of the white pairs but they just don’t stay still.

I’ve just realised my ‘newest’ Serbian highflyer pair are no where to be seen. They have probably been gone for a few days after their big flight. It frustrates me that nothing ever goes right even when a day seems fine.. I wonder what’s going to be next...

Just been looking at some photos and videos on my devices. The last video I had of them was on Tuesday this week, so if they left the next day they’ve been gone for at least 3 days.

Fingers crossed I see them again but I highly wreckon they won’t be back like every other bird I’ve lost...

I’ll keep this updated if a miracle happens.

Happy to hear your loft has taken a few steps forward. I read your last post and found out 2 high fliers failed to return.
The consolation in raising homers is if they fail to return you can take solace saying they were a poor bird and not worth keeping in the first place.
That being said every loss is upsetting.

Oh no. I'm sorry I know how you feel when the decide not to return. Luckily mine all have...eventually! The longest I've had one stay out was three days. I really hope they return. Is there a chance they have returned to their previous address? If they have is it within a reasonable distance to go and collect?

I highly doubt they have returned to their original owners as they aren’t homing breed. And if they have the place is like 2 hours away at Canberra (the capital city).
