Finch Thread—Discuss and Show Off Your Birds

Recently, though still very much maintaining my chicken obsession, I have become more and more interested in caged birds such as budgies (which I have owned my whole life) and finches (a more recent adventure.) If all goes according to plan, I should be welcoming home two new zebra finches tomorrow. I would love to hear from other finch owners and see some pictures and stories.
Feel free to talk about other caged birds such as budgies, cockatiels, lovebirds, parrots, etc.

So beautiful. Sadly, I also lost my Yellowback Gouldian for unknown reasons. He was the bitiest, most loveable bird.

Here are a few of said zebbies....I've got BF/BCs, BC/CFWs, LB/BCs, and everything in between. I was breeding for BC/CFWs, but got sidetracked. Chip Chip, the last little guy, is a great foster parent. He's been known to feed begging younger siblings.

My peppery little Bronze-winged Mannakin, who is the tiny but mighty, and makes the rules.

So beautiful. Sadly, I also lost my Yellowback Gouldian for unknown reasons. He was the bitiest, most loveable bird.

Gouldians are so fragile. I truly love them, but I won't be trying them again until I have a better setup and climate control. I want a bird room that I can heat to above my comfortable living temperature.
