June 23rd I was walking through a forested area which is homed to a lot of ducks and geese. After walking for some time, I look and notice I’m about to step on this random duck egg in the walking trail. I picked it up and it was cool to the touch so I immediately held it for about an hour for some warmth. Getting home I check the egg for any signs of life since I have no idea how old it is and it was pretty clear. From June 23 until June 26th there have been some changes! From mostly clear to a dark speck into a circular clump! This is my first time attempting to incubate/ hatch an egg! I hope I can save this lost egg. I’ll be posting updates about the egg here. I'm sorry, but I'm pretty sure it's infertile and rotting. Veins should be appearing by now. Give it a day or two longer if you want to be certain but eggs shouldn't get mottled and cloudy .
It’s a bit of an olive tone egg color (duck egg) but I can start to see some veins forming in the middle.
