Finish this sentence: "You know you're addicted to chickens when..."

~when you're gone for the day and the first thing you do when you get home is check on your chickens

Sounds a bit like me...

The chicken cam seems so cool! I have always dreamed of getting one but never thought they could exist!!
What do you use?

My husband bought a cheapie $9.99 USB camera and we put an old laptop in the coop. He hooked the camera up to the laptop and we could just go to the web address he set up and watch the hens frolic! I could watch them on my tablet and my phone, too! We just got back from Florida last night. Even though the camera was great, it was even better to hug their little fluffy butts. We only have 4 girls, so everyone got tons of love. Anyway, the camera didn't have night vision because they were in the coop at night. But while they were out in the run during the day, we could watch them eat, dust bathe, and run around.

... when you know how to work out any bad behaviors in any of your chickens because you know them so well.
... when you consider chickens as your children (in a way).
... when you talk to them, and they talk back.

... when you spend some time designing a jungle gym for them with swing, branches, hanging treat ball and mobile......

Actually it began as a practical idea - when they free range each afternoon, the girls have an area I'm happy for them to scratch in but they choose other areas becase these are more covered and damp, so I suppose there are more bugs there. We are going to build a moveable swing with perches etc on a base of wood. Then I can water the ground, move the jungle gym on top of it - and the ground which has been covered by it for a week or so will be moist and have more bugs. Scratch HERE, girls!!!

Any thoughts on whether this will work?

It's very likely that it will. I tend to discover that bugs hide under things in dark, damp places. Should make for some good protein for them.
