I put my 5 cayuga ducklings outside at 2 weeks old. I gave them a heat lamp at night because it would get down to around 34F at night. With their house, heat lamp and straw, they were just fine. They are around 4 weeks old now I think.View attachment 1375250 View attachment 1375252 View attachment 1375253 View attachment 1375258 My 13 day old Cayuga ducklings had their first adventure outside today! The weather has been beautiful here this past week that I’ve even been able to shut off their heat lamp completely! (Yes I watch them to make sure they’re comfortable.) I’m starting to wonder if they can be put outside earlier than 7wks old... it’s been 70°F here most of this week
The lows for the next week are anywhere from 42°F - 62°F. I can’t part with my babies right now. They just seem to young to be outside, maybe in a couple more weeks when they’re about a month old? It will be a little warmer then, too. What are the night temps?
I was ready to get mine out by 6 weeks, but they didn't get out until 7 weeks. They are doing great! The lows for the next week are anywhere from 42°F - 62°F. I can’t part with my babies right now.
