How many eggs have you got going??

can I join I'm scheduled to hatch about a week and a half from now but I need some hatch buddies.

My BLRW are doing pretty good. I have had to throw a couple out. I can see little eyes floating around in there. My black Australorp look good, only have a few of my Ameraucanas in, they had problems when I looked at them 24 hrs. later..weirdest thing..there was water in top of the egg. The girl I got them from is sending more. They were supposed to be here today, but, no eggs..crossing fingers for tomorrow! If not, that means clear to Mon.!
Welcome Chicken boy13!!

So, how do you all know that they will be a certain color before they even hatch? I know nothing about chicken genetics but how does everyone seem to know lol.
what will my chicks be?
All Cochin...
partridge roo X red hen(maybe a weak partridge perhaps as she has some partridge colors going on, not sure)
partridge roo X partridge hen

Will they most likely all be partridge??

I have 18 blue splash maran eggs in for 2/3/12

I cant answer youre question but it is just the name and color of there breed there are different types of marans and different types of other breeds some of my maran chicks will be blue and some will be black and some will be blue splash because the blue color in chickens is not true it is a mixture of white and black so if you breed a blue hen with a blue rooster you mite gite all black all white are a mixture of black white and blue you will learn all about this and other things as you progress in the interesting world of chickens

Sounds like they will be pretty little barn yard mixes, then, if you know which eggs are from the Partridge roo and the pure Partridge hen, those will look like partridge babies. Look up the Partridge babies, they are darling..here is a picture of my big girl a while back,, does NOT even show the bright red in her..cheap camera and in the sun. She is even larger now, and laying a real pretty cream/beige colored egg..almost every day now..she just started laying the first part of the month, the first egg..was huge! Double yolk..then she got to where she should be as a pullet after three big eggs, and now the eggs are starting to get bigger again.
First egg,

I had to check her out to make sure she was ok. She was, and like I said, did that a couple more times, then went to pullet size, and is now laying larger, but I am thinking she will be laying a pretty good sized egg in another month.

Yay! I love the partridge look

. Mine looks just like yours does, and lays MASSIVE eggs too! Hers are long like that aswell.

My red Cochin hens are red everywhere, but have partridge tail feathers... so, would theirs be partridge too?

Sounds like you will have the Partridge lacing on all of them if the Cochin has it too. Or, could have just the red..sounds like you get some feathered feet too.
