First chick out, is this normal??

First, WOO HOO for my first ever hatch! They are FBCMs.

But...is this okay? Looks like something is still stuck to the shell, but no yolk.

Yes it is normal, I am not sure exactly what it is but everything is fine. Hopefully someone with more knowledge can fill you in, but I figured I would just put your mind at ease.

I have a few of those in my bator right now myself! Yes, it is normal. Just think of it as "chick waste", I don't know the technical term either.

I always thought it was a bit like an umbilical cord? Perfectly normal though.
