Hi All!

I was not expecting this so soon...tonight there was a beautiful egg on the coop floor right by the door! At first, it looked like a tumbled brick! I couldn't believe it! They are only 17 weeks old!!

This was laid by Rebecca, our Cuckoo Maran:

Oh dear. Mine are between 16-18 weeks but I don't have the nests ready yet. I better go take a look around for some surprises. I thought they had a couple more weeks yet.

Nice looking egg, congratulations.

Oh! You are making me so happy!! Thanks for your kind words!
I AM happy; I was so surprised!!! She was acting funny the last few days and the roo preferred her; today her comb is bright red!!

So, if I understand correctly, since I have 1 roo, I could keep them on the grower feed and just add oyster shell free-choice. In a few weeks, I could switch them to a poultry feed (not layer) and keep oyster shell out for them and this would work and be OK for the roo too?? I use Poulin Grain. So I don't have to use layer feed???

Thanks for your help!!
