First egg at a young age...

Most of my Easter Eggers start laying between 20 and 25 weeks. Your girl isn't too early. She's right on time with those eggs. Most of my pullets lay lots of double yolker eggs in their first month. It's very normal for new layers.

Mine started laying @ 23 weeks, first time I have ever had 'spring chicks' laying in their first year, and all four are laying now! Yeah EE eggs aren't as big as my Red's but I love 'em just the same.

Most of my neighbors do have their own chickens so it isn't much of an issue on that front. But take a peak at this link. My goats screamed ALL DAY when they first came home without mamma. Even I didn't think I would be able to live with it in that capacity. Things are much different since they've adjusted to their new surroundings. Watch the whole video. Mine were up there with the worst of them.

1 of my "Ameraucana" laid a beautiful, olive colored, 30 gram egg. They are the smallest and cute. But I got 3 total several weeks ago and nothing since. She free ranges to places she is not allowed and I mean all over the place. Before I got her eggs in the box I thought she might be hiding a nest with all her roaming. But I don't think so any more. I'm thinking either her system is still gearing up, or this far north maybe she is already shutting down for the season.

With so many chickens, they love to play follow the leader! So I am working on my fences. 1 (not EE) quickly showed me she could clear the rain shelter we built from a standing start. Both fun to see and scary at the same time. I am considering installing electric fence for their safety.

I've had something similar happen with one of my Cream Legbars... She laid a few beautiful sky blue eggs, then nothing for several weeks... Then when she was ready, she started laying again...

The girls are flighty and nervous to an extent... I spend a lot of time with them so that they aren't too bad... However, the rooster is very much so... I've tried to carry him around while I do work in the yard and such but nothing seems to ease it any... One of my girls will fly to me if she notices I have treats... I love it... lol
