This is Falcon, a Red Sex Link who is 25 weeks old. All her sisters are laying, and she is the biggest and hungriest of all of them. I don't think she is close yet, though. She does squat for me, for about a week now.

She is 19wks I believe I have a sexlink Maran mix that is like 23wks and isn't red or anything my barred is the only one who's red and squatting I really hope it's soon!!!!!

Finally!! After waiting since Monday when the first 'kind-of' egg appeared (a yolky mess) this is what I found this morning on the coop floor! Still no shell, but it's just lovely!

Now if only I knew who it was! At this point it could be any of my 7 who are all mature and ready. I am awaiting the egg winfall any day now!

oh gosh-I so love reading everyone's excitement and wonder at the first egg! I went through all that and do every year.
I have to leave my hens with someone else Sept 17. Breaks my heart but cannot have them at my year round house.
I just love the color contrast of the BO bright golden yellow and the red crest!
I am so in love with having chickens that I leave my fam mid May to come here and care for them. Maybe I like being alone in a beautiful place with my dog and chickens or else I am nuts!

How old are they?

My Isbar that just started today hatched on 2/18.

6 months now. The reason thst I am asking about pelvic bine is because they have a rather large bone that protudes out perpendicular to their legs. I have no idea which bone it is.
