First Egg Countdown

Ill join!!

This one I believe is still too young. I was told she was probably only five months.

This lady is the closet I think. about 7 months. As well as the black EE mix below.

The three in the front are the girls. The Polish should already be laying
she is 1.5years old. But Ive only had them three weeks so I hope its the move and new enviroment
thats affecting her. The white Sultan is 7 months and the Gold polish silkiex also.
The black one looks very close to me. Her face has the exact color mine were when they started to lay. All of your chickens are beautiful birds :)

Do you have a better picture of the first bird? Side view with it standing on it's feet would be best. I believe you were lied to on that one, it is colored like a cockerel. I'm 99% sure it's a cockerel, but would like to see it standing on it's own feet to be sure.

First egg! Pretty little light green one from my EE, 24 weeks old.
My EE has laid 3 eggs in the past 4 days. All perfect like the first one! Now I'm waiting for my barred rocks, Polish mixes, and black copper marans to start laying. They're only 21 weeks old, and only one barred rock is looking close.

Hope this is a good enough pic. Thanks for the insight. The guy was really nice and didnt lie. He was up front that he was pretty sure about sexing but if he had made a mistake he would gladly exchange. I hate to send him back if he is a roo as conditions were really bad, but I have my silkie roo already and neighbors. My silkie's crow really isnt too loud. Neighbors say they have to be on their porch to hear him good. I dont want to have to house two different roosters either. That would explain his more bold behavior and why Rico has been little more aggressive with this particular one. Not overly but he will run him/her away more than the others. The guy i got him from did say it was a bit younger than the other two. The bigger ones he said would most likely start laying Oct-Nov. he thought so I figured that made this one maybe four months?? Not sure about that though.

I have never owned a rooster before, nor this breed (Barred Rock?) but the rump seems odd. Does she/he seem to be missing some back feathers or tail?
One Cuckoo marans started pullet I ordered from Murray McMurray came with a large section like that missing. I also suspected the conditions were very crowded/dirty. Her feathers and entire tail did grow back after a month or so. She looks awesome now.
Hopefully yours is going to be okay, and if it is a boy I hope you can re-home him. :)

Not sure what the breeding is. A cross of some sorts. He had a ton of EEs and EE crosses so thats what Im assuming this one is. Yes he/she is missing tail feathers. I dont see any signs of mites and its not infected looking it just looks like they have been plucked out. It was in with a bunch of ducks and other chickens and some free roaming bunnies so theres no telling.

I'm betting it's a boy, though it can sometimes be more tricky with crosses. He looks to be 8-9 weeks old. You will know for sure when the saddle feathers come in. (roughly 13 weeks)

These are my girls my BSL and my RIR are getting ready but can anyone estimate when they will lay?
