A dog attacked one of my 5 chickens this morning!!!!!!! The chicken died about 6 hours ago.
Thankfully the other four escaped including the molting one.

my Barred Rock has been pretty interested in the nest box today! My EE was interested in it last Wednesday and Thursday she gave us her first egg so maybe we will see a Snuggles egg tomorrow!
can't wait to see it. I hope I can tell the difference between hers and my BAs egg.

Congrats!! Did she do the "egg song" while she laid? I am dying to get an egg over here!!! Looking for every possible sign!!!We got an egg from Snuggles today! I knew it wouldn't be long when she spent a lot of time checking out the nest box yesterday. It's just a shade darker than my BAs egg and I probably wouldn't have known it was my Barred Rocks egg except for the fact that I knew my BA would take the day off!

I did hear some egg songs this morning. I'm not sure if she was one of the singer a though. She's a pretty quiet hen. My EE loves to sing and she sings for all of them so it may have been her singing but I'm not sure.
my daughter named her! In my opinion she feels the softest out of the 4 so I could probably snuggle with her!
