The Rhode Island Red, Rhode Island White, Buff Orpington, and Black Sexlink are all the hens that may have laid the 2 eggs. I got another egg tonight that matches the 1st egg in color. All I know is that 2 of these girls are laying eggs.

I am sure at some point I will figure this out.

Well Im not exactly sure which ones lay colored. I do know mine will be colored as I have 3 easter eggers. When time comes I will have EEgers X Andalsuian chicks

Or thats the plan. Until I can find a flock of Andalusian hens for my boys. I havent gotten any eggs yet but cant wait to try my first fresh egg ever!!

When you get some more you should post them. I will try an help you figure out which ones might have laid the eggs . I will do my best to help

Well I've been checking and checking.

then I recounted the ages...

I'm a moron.
They are ALMOST 6months, then 4 months then 12 weeks-ish.

Time to stop harassing them for eggs. lol. I had somehow added a whole month to each of their ages. They are just babies yet!

Mine are 5 months and their combs are starting to come in nicely. Bright red and getting bigger by the day. They have always been chatty while they forge though I have noticed an increase in their chit chat during the evening right as the sun starts going down. Its a nice cool evening here and they were extremely talkitive with me while I was out there putting them to bed. Only one of my 3 hens is not very big and has a pretty pink tiny comb. Shes the lowest in the pecking order I believe. Her name is Glory

. I think she will be just fine though. Just a late bloomer thats all

Looks like today was the magic day for 2 of my girls! A 25 week old EE and a 22 week old BCM! Whoo hoo!

Now if only the other 18 the same ages would get the message....

LOL

I don't think mine are ever going to lay....sigh. They are 16+ weeks, I know, too early, but I have had them since they were chicks -
16 weeks is a L O N G time.

edited to add: and absolutely NO interest in the nesting boxes. period.

So my ladies are now 20 weeks, 16 weeks, and 12 weeks. I didn't think the older ones had grown all that much until I went back to find my original post in this thread and WOW! Those ladies now have big red combs and wattles! Angel, the 16 weeker, still has no comb or redness (or even pink for that matter). The older two have been squatting for about a month and Nelly, the RIR/Golden Comet X, is SO LOUD! She is constantly squawking about something. Music to my ears

Last weekend I heard what I thought for sure was an egg song and ran outside to find them all digging through the poison ivy in the woods. I put on my boots and looked around but found nothing. She just wanted me to add to my already copious poison ivy collection I have going on my skin.

Everyone has been in and out of the nesting boxes.

This waiting for eggs is harder than waiting for labor to kick in!!
I don't know how we are going to split the first egg between the four of us... you know everyone will want a taste!

Congrats to all who finally got their first egg! Have your ladies send my ladies some egg-laying vibes!

@mother hen 2011 Your girl named Glory looks just like my Ameracauna who just started laying at 24 weeks, green legs, muffs and coloring. She's laying beautiful light green eggs!!
