I got 3 out of 9 laying and the ones who aren't laying are redder looking than the layers........slackers lol but I did introduce 2 newbies last week, it went strangely well,,,, too well I hope their not plotting lol lol

I am still waiting on my BO to lay!! And their faces couldnt be any redder. Whats the deal? Everyone else lays just fine....

Omg!! Went to the coop to get eggs... had my normal 3 from my older girls.... and another!!!! One of my BO layed and egg!!! Only it was soft shelled.. but hey its a start!!!

I have 5 girls who were hatched 1/2/13 making them 14 weeks old. I am getting excited for eggs!

A SLW, BO, BPR and two EE's.

This is my first time ever with chickens and chicks and loving most every minute of it.

I went out to give the girls some meal worms today and this girl was missing. after a few minutes she came to join us. I thought it was odd so I went and checked out the nest boxes. and this is what I found.



One was cold so I think it was from yesterday!

Nope! Happy Dance!!!

That was taken last week when they were 23 weeks old. She has the largest waddle and comb so I think the other girls WILL be a few weeks behind.

CongraTS guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I HAD A SOFT SHELL TOO KASSY!! My real red faced still isnt laying they were 17 weeks on good friday ( around then) and i added a few new ones last weeks so maybe they got thrown.... my leghorns started and havent stopped ...i suspect the soft one was from one of them... only 1 redstar out of 7 is laying lol im like an egg detective

All my chickies are 16 weeks old, 2 RIRs and 4 BAs. Maybe it's too soon, but should I be watching out for eggs yet?
