First Egg Countdown

One of my RSLs did ONE HECK of a squat this am! I guess I just thought she was squatting. She dropped down to quick and threw her wings out. She will be 20wks Monday and has gotten super red. Of course I just wormed them bc I've been nursing some sick birds back to health and have been seeing some funky poo.

Just my luck I can't eat my first egg bc I wormed them! Lol!

Worried chicken mamma question:
Koume started laying at 23 weeks. We got a little egg daily for three days. One day i go to check-find her egg in its normal spot, Alice and Rosie's eggs in their spots....and a very dark small egg in a new spot! I collect them and later come out to clean the coop and find ANOTHER egg! Nobody will fess up to laying the new ones.

My concern-Alice and Rosie lay right on schedule. Without fail. I havent gotten another egg from Koume or my mystery layers since. At 24 and 23 weeks im not expecting eggs from anyone-but im wondering how long between eggs before i get concerned about something internal?

And no, im not missing them! I check every inch pf the coop and run several times a day (i want to know who laid a chocolate egg!) And we dont free range.

So-in a new layerespecially, how long before i declare shenanigans?

One of my Cuckoo Marans laid her first egg today

A nice dark brown, not real dark, but darker then my other eggs. She took awhile to lay it and made a huge fuss. So out of my 16 almost 24 week old chickens, two of them are laying now!!!

Here are some of the eggs on my skelter. From left to right: CM, WR, RIR, BR and WR. The 4 on the left are all from today. Should have a 5 egg day today since my Light Brown Leghorn is in a nest box now too.

Today I got 3 eggs! Yay! 3 out of 4 are paying rent. If the youngest pullet waits as long as the others did to lay I won't get 4 eggs until Feb. Can't wait to see what color egg Henrietta the EE will lay.

Just want to make sure my girls are ok. 0 degrees tonight. Heated water and food in enclosed coop. Tomorrow below zero temps, windchill 20 to 30 below. Small vent holes at very top of coop. Ones in the direction of the wind have been covered with a towel. Should I put them in the garage?
