I gathered all my Marans eggs this morning and went out this afternoon to see if the EEs had left me any. I was distracted by one of the EE girls spinning circles in the corner of the coop. She looked at me, stopped and laid an egg right in front of me!!! Silly girl, that's not where they go but thanks for the show. Then I checked the boxes and found a blue egg and a light brown one! That's six!!! Six!!! I'm guessing today was the day for one of the Australorps! They are having fun surprising me daily! Only eight left to lay. At this rate they'll all be laying by next week!!! Woohoo!!!

4 eggs again yesterday! I think that was day 6 or 7?? I've lost track. I wonder if/when they take a day off if it will all be on the same day and I won't get any eggs at all! On my way home in an hour and I will report on the nest box findings later!

Lol! We've been getting 4-5 eggs a day, but so far today we've only had one. It is by no means the thirteen that I am expecting as a miracle someday, but it certainly can vary!

Chickens are awesome anyway, but it's so cool to watch them grow up and do what chickens do! I'm sure they all laugh at us when we go out and are so excited to find eggs. They're like, "Uh, yeah, what did you expect?". Lol!
