Well....somebody built a nest with the golf balls in it. & it wasn't our currently laying hen who never builds nests. Her egg was outside of the nest. Wonder who did it?!

I am so excited one of my ducks started laying. I thought it took ducks longer to start laying then chickens. I am not sure which duck is laying.

No idea which one is laying, but congrats!

I'm finally getting close. Well, not me, my hens. I've got a NHR whose comb got big and jiggly overnight.

One Of my ISA brown is getting really red and my Amber white has a bigger comb and leaning towards red more than pink. Finally some signs! I just can't wait! My other ISA and two barred rocks are lagging behind. They are all right around 17-18 weeks.

Thanks for the heads up, I'm a bit nervous about that phase but will deal with that when we get there.

We got one eggs 3 days in a row than for two days we got 2 eggs than 2 days we got 1 egg we r back to two again today!! Wth is that normal?? Lol I'm pretty sure the one that started first is the one who has laid everyday and the other took a two day break because of the sizes. Can't wait for the other 4 to. Start than the ducks!!

I got one on Thursday, one Saturday, one Monday, one Tuesday and two today. The sequence was slightly larger every day until today's big one, which was 2 oz., or the same size as a commercial Large egg. The second one today was a tiny first effort, so another pullet is practicing while the first one got the hang of it.

I'll let you all know what the ladies produce tomorrow.
