mine are 20 weeks ...still waiting

Any pictures of them? The redness of the comb and face often predict how close they are to laying. Besides, all of us are chicken addicts and just love to see chickens any day!

Darajosami looks like your girls have big bright red combs and wattles, probably shouldn't be much longer. Have any of them started to squat or sing the egg song?

Beautiful! Your rooster is gorgeous too! With most hens, the red comb and face indicates readiness to lay. They are all good and red! With my leghorns, I notice as soon as the comb flops over in that particular breed, you tend to see eggs within a week or so. A couple of your hens combs have flopped, they look very ready, so you should find some white eggs very soon!

No song but haven't noticed squatting but they are in lockdown due to only just getting them

Went to check on my girls this morning and I think I have 2 more squatters. I'm not surprised the one BR is squatting because I suspect her comb and wattles will be bright red soon but I noticed the chicken I originally thought was a BO but turns out she is probably an EE is squatting. Her comb and wattles are not even growing yet. Do you think she's just squatting for the heck of it or do you think when her comb comes in it'll come in fast?

Got my first egg today. Not sure when it was laid but to my surprise it was in the nest box and not in the yard. Should definitely get one tomorrow again?

Newchick- chances are you will get one tomorrow but it's not 100%. My BA just started laying on Friday and she laid Saturday but skipped Sunday and Monday she laid at like 6pm so she skipped Tuesday but then she laid yesterday and today.
