Cute little first egg. I can't remember the last time I was as excited as I was when I saw that first egg.
 


I finally got a 2nd layer! After 6 weeks of waiting #2 started laying yesterday. Now if the other 2 would get going.
 
Congrats Katbird! I've had one layer for weeks now. I've seen another hen play in the nest boxes for a bit now, always the same hen. Yesterday I finally saw a 3rd hen play in the nest boxes. Any day now for 2 eggs, right?

Any day now! Maybe the 3rd hen will even lay before the 2nd hen.

I was just home for lunch and my one layer gave me an egg while I was there! Still warm in the nest.

I'm starting to wonder about my speckled Sussex. At 22 weeks and 26 weeks we have seen no eggs yet!
