It Is Tiny Lol! Was a proud mummy again!

Found my first two Eggs from my rir today around 5pm I had there laying boxes covered up and have been feeding them medicated food and scratch the shells where to thin so they busted but at 20 wks and laying eggs I am proud now it's time to swap feed and get some crushed oyster shells

Yay! One of my Delaware pullets and one of my Brown Leghorns have started to lay. The Delaware started first at a little over 20 weeks and the Leghorn at 21 weeks. I was shocked as I was expecting it to be a longer wait! So far Crooked Toe (The Delaware) has laid 7 out of the last 8 days and Flame has laid one egg. I also got another egg from one of our brown egg layers, but I haven't been able to identify her yet. So, three of my 27 pullets have laid in the last week!

Yay! Congratulations!

We swapped the feed last week when our Delaware laid her first egg, and have been giving our girls oyster shell too. We weren't feeding medicated starter, but they were getting chick feed up to that point. We also give some treats, but haven't had any issues with weak shells.

Although, one day Crooked Toe had an egg fall out on the hard ground and it broke. They all ran over and gobbled it up before I could check the shell, but I don't think it was a weak one, just hit the ground hard enough to crack it open.

I am joining the waiting game. I have been very cautious to not hold my breath waiting for eggs but I think I might start.

My oldest batch is 25 weeks old- Easter Egger and a Black Australop

My youngsters are 22 weeks old- Lavender Orpington, Easter Egger, and a Welsummer

One of the easter eggers started squatting. I noticed she seems to be the smallest in the bunch but i think she might be the 25 week pullet. All of my chickens are very red in the face except for the lavender orpington. I dont want to buy any more eggs.

HOW MUCH LONGER MUST I WAIT?!?!?!?!?!

Lol! I know how you feel! It should be very soon now, with the red faces and squatting. It was about ten days after I started to see squatting, but I know it varies.

Those are my chickens. How much longer do you think it will be? The red in their combs didnt really show up as well as I wanted because of poor lighting. Pardon the poopy coop. I will get cleaning as soon as this freeze is over.

They're beautiful!

Their combs, wattles and faces might not be quite red enough yet, although I've had chickens lay that didn't have super red combs, so...

Anyway, here's a picture of one of my chickens that just started to lay the other day. her comb way more red than her sisters.

Congrats to all of you getting eggs! I have had several pullets start up as well. It's nice to be in eggs again.
